Let's Do Lunch Sistas (LDLS) is a Dallas/Fort Worth-based 501(c)(3) non-profit of Christian women dedicated to community service. Our mission is to lend our hearts and hands to the community through volunteerism. Since April 2011, we've supported vulnerable populations by feeding the homeless, assisting shelters for women and children, preparing meals for families at the Ronald McDonald House, and addressing food insecurity through local food bank partnerships.

We are proud to introduce the Cynthia Daniels Scholarship, designed to empower deserving college juniors and seniors who share our values of compassion, integrity, and collaboration. This scholarship is for students who have a strong history of volunteerism and a desire to continue serving their community, especially those facing financial hardships or a loss of motivation.

At LDLS, we believe in uplifting and encouraging one another. The Cynthia Daniels Scholarship is our way of providing a financial boost to show our unwavering belief in your success.

Ideal candidates for this scholarship should have a personal history of volunteerism and a desire to continue serving their community. We look for individuals who embody the spirit of our organization through their actions and their unwavering commitment to helping those in need.

To be considered for this scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Must be a female student currently attending Paul Quinn College, an accredited Historically Black College/University (HBCU) in Texas.
• Must be a current junior or senior during the 2026-2027 academic year.
• Must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale entering the academic year      listed above. 
• The recipient of the scholarship cannot be related to any member of LDLS nor reside in the household of any member of LDLS.
• The recipient of the scholarship cannot be related to any staff of the College/University nor reside in the household of any staff of the College/University.

For scholarship consideration applicants must submit the following information to the LDLS Scholarship Committee no later than April 15, 2026.

To be considered for the scholarship, you must submit the following materials as a complete application:

• Completed Application Form including A 250-word essay on the topic "How Encouragement Breeds Success.":  Ensure all sections are filled out.  
• Cynthia Daniels Scholarship Application Information Release Statement: Be sure to complete it.
• Current Transcript: Submit a copy of your most recent college or university transcript.
• Letter of Interest: Write a one-page, double-spaced letter introducing yourself. Please include examples of your humanitarian or religious service and explain why you believe you are a deserving candidate for this scholarship.
• Professional Headshot: Provide a headshot in professional attire. If you are selected as a scholarship recipient, this photo may be used in program booklets, digital content or on social media.

One scholarship of $1,000 will be awarded.

If you are selected as the recipient, the scholarship funds will be disbursed directly to your university. You will receive an official acceptance letter with a deadline to provide your school's information so we can verify your enrollment and send the funds.

Applications, accompanied by all required materials, must be submitted electronically no later than April 15, 2026, by 11:59PM CT.
